There, where the moon embraces the city, dreams light up the stars.
Donizetti Night is coming home.

Donizetti Night, June 20, 2015, Bergamo

A day of celebration, between art and entertainment. For the first time, the theater comes out of the theater and pours its magic into the streets of the city. Donizetti Night is a festive occasion when the whole city pays tribute to its composer. On an early summer day, when being outdoors is the most one can ask for, the palaces the halls, squares and monuments of Bergamo come alive in events and performances, theatrical and otherwise, united by a single common thread: the genius of Gaetano Donizetti. Theater reinvents itself by stepping out of its spaces and canons, giving life and modern interpretations that light up the city from afternoon until late at night. In this festive scene, we wanted to pay tribute to the professionals behind the scenes who help set the performances in a time and place: the costume designers and tailoring. In fact, the costumes used are the same ones made for Mayr’s opera “Che originali!”

Roof and outdoor areas – Complete renovation.

We like to think of theater as magic that, arising from the stage, has the ability to emerge from it and envelop the surrounding space. That is why we decided to expand the renovation work to include the building’s exterior areas, which are less related to performance in the strict sense. The roof was at the heart of this additional set of interventions. The space was renovated to optimize access and operation of the machinery it houses. In addition, the cladding of the exterior surfaces was made of special innovative materials with low landscaping impact. The gardens will be refurbished soon with a new design that also includes outdoor bar space in the summer, hoping to soon return to breathe together the magic of a place made for sharing.
