Bergamo Jazz summer events at the Lazzaretto organised as part of Bergamo-Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023

Snarky Puppy are the most highly acclaimed American band of recent decades: with five Grammy Awards and numerous other honours behind them, they continue to identify with their ‘underground’ soul through a creative drive that spans all music genres and embraces generations of listeners. More than just a band, they are a true sound laboratory in which different styles and languages, jazz, funk, R&B, written music and total improvisation fuse. The mainstay is bassist Michael League, the true catalyst for the musical energies of a ‘collective’ that sees 25 musicians involved in rotation. And it is in their live performances that Snarky Puppy express an all-encompassing, explosive, surprising musicality: each concert is unique and tells a different story that belongs to a longer, much bigger one.
