CLAUDIO VIGNALI Piano Solo

On April 30th, Bergamo Jazz Festival joins the celebration of International Jazz Day with an extraordinary event near the Walls of Bergamo, a UNESCO-protected site that has been promoting International Jazz Day worldwide since 2011. At sunset, pianist Claudio Vignali will accompany the setting sun, letting his improvisational flair flow. This event emphasizes the shared values of jazz and further demonstrates the connection between Bergamo Jazz Festival and its territory.

Claudio Vignali is one of the most significant Italian jazz pianists of his generation. In 2013, he won third prize at the most important international jazz piano competition, the “Parmigiani Montreux International Jazz Piano Solo Competition,” where he had previously been selected among 10 jazz pianists under 30 worldwide. In addition to receiving other awards and recognitions, he has collaborated with important internationally renowned artists including Dave Weckl, Joe Locke, Tiger Okoshi, Rob Mazurek, Gretchen Parlato, Shawnn Monteiro, Alex Sipiagin, Eivind Aarset, Arne Hiorth, Oddrun Eikli, Gunnar Gunnarsson, and Tarun Balani. He holds diplomas in classical piano and jazz music and has always had an interest in electronic sounds as well.
