The traditional Christmas Concert at the Social Theater by “The Little Musicians,” this year will be entitled “The Sound of the Voice.” In fact, the protagonist will be the voice of the choir, with several soloists. Different from previous years will be the program: a selection of pleasant listening pieces from their wide and well-established repertoire. The first part will feature Folk Songs from different nations, songs from the musicals of Leonard Bernstein and Richard Rodgers, opera songs remembering the centenary of Giacomo Puccini’s death. From Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen, which was performed at the Donizetti Theater in the 1995 season in which the chorus participated, the “Choeur des Gamins” is proposed in stage form with “Avec la garde montante,” a song that the “Coro dei Monelli” sings in the first act. Surely the audience will appreciatè the surprise included in this year’s program.
In the second part ample space is given to the most beautiful Christmas melodies, which will accompany us to its sweet and magical atmosphere. There will be no shortage of novelties in
first performance such as “The little drummer boy,” famous American Christmas song written in 1941, as well as “Let it snow,” a true 20th century Christmas classic, skillfully arranged for choir by Maestro Mauro Zuccante.
Different styles but proposed with one characteristic: expressiveness and sound, which have always distinguished the choir “I Piccoli Musici”.
