Opera never ceases to thrill, at any age and anywhere in the world. Sitting in the theater, we become lovers moved by passion and guided by the wise hands of those who govern this monumental form of entertainment. The Donizetti Theater’s opera programming is about to return home.

That of Edgardo and Lucia is perhaps the most poignant love story created by the genius of Donizetti. The opera follows the vicissitudes of the two lovers whose dream is shattered by deception. Recognized as an undisputed masterpiece, it is one of the great gifts of our Super Gaetano, as it has been renamed by the Festival Opera Donizetti, and his most famous opera. An ever-present title on stages around the world, we look forward to seeing it staged in Bergamo like all of Donizetti’s other operas. An ode to love, passion and courage, absolute and transgenerational values that, for this #dincanto occasion, were interpreted by two young amateurs, proving that opera is a genre capable of crossing all boundaries.

Stages – Acoustic restoration and optimization.
The boxes have undergone numerous renovations. The complete restoration of furnishings, seating, furniture, and replacement of upholstery helped make the theater more beautiful and welcoming as well as updated for fire regulations. Many interventions have been made to improve acoustics: carpeting has been eliminated, the armrests of the seats are made of wood, and the installation of upholstery has followed special procedures designed with soundproofing in mind. Each stage underwent a cleaning and overhaul of the lighting fixtures, adjusting the historic ones and replacing the newer ones. In addition, the air conditioning, smoke detection and fire suppression system was renewed, as well as the upgrading of flooring and covering materials. A restoration that saw functionality as its raison d’être but aesthetics and enhancement of the theatrical experience as its most spectacular effect.
