ROBERTO MATTEI New Quartet

Roberto Mattei, a versatile double bassist and musician, active in jazz, classical music, teaching, and arranging, has been particularly dedicated to composition since 2018, focusing most of his career in recent years on creating his new compositions. This led to the formation of the Hurricane Trio, completed by Lorenzo Blardone and Massimiliano Salina, with whom the double bassist has recorded three CDs, Let’s Go Ahead, Turning Point and Grateful, the last two featuring American saxophonist Chris Collins. The addition of Davide Sartori‘s versatile guitar led to the formation of the New Quartet, with which the leader expands his compositional concepts thanks to a broader coloristic palette.
