Backstop – Mechanization and safety interventions.
A first glance labels it a service place, intended for the work, assembly and disassembly of materials needed for the performance. As the name suggests, the backstage is the place behind the performance-a suggestion as true in its literal as in its metaphorical sense. It is in fact the space where those who have chosen to make theater their profession experience staging. Insiders, technicians, actors and directors await their moment here, accumulating joys, tensions, fears and successes in an environment saturated with emotion. A practical and well-appointed backstage is vital to the success of the show, which is why it has undergone functional interventions. First and foremost was the digitization of the mechanical motion of the sets, to have greater control over the movement of props. The environment was then implemented with additional safety measures, such as the giant new fire door separating the stalls from the stage, to ensure a space in which to operate in complete peace of mind.
